Step 1 Introduction
1. T say: well, you’re all new students in this school and we don’t know each other.
So, how about introducing ourselves? Ok, let’s get started.
( T go around the class and get some individual ss to introduce themselves. Say:
Hello! What’s your name/May I have your name?
Which school were you in last term?
Nice meeting you/Nice to meet you.
2. Get ss to work in pairs, making introductions with the sentences given by the T.

1 tell the ss: just now we’re learned how to make self-introduction and now we’re
going to see how to introduce one person to another person. Listen to the tape
and find out the answers of these questions. ( book closed )
2. Explain the language points.
A introduce
及物動詞,后跟賓語,常用:introduce sb. to sb.
Examples:
I want to / I’d like to introduce Mr. Wang ( to you)

1. T say: today we’re going to read about a letter, written by an American boy, to a Chinese boy. ( open your books)You’ll have some minutes to read the letter quickly and meanwhile think about the questions I give you.

Step 2 Intensive reading

1. T sat: now you’ll get some ms to read the first paragraph and then answer the questions on the board.

Step 1 Revision
1 Ask ss some questions about the letter.
Step 2 Dialogue
1 T plays the tape and let the ss read after the tape (reminding the ss to pay attention to the intonation, tone and mood of the speakers). Then ask several pairs of ss to read the dialogue in roles ( demands: full of emotion, imitating the tone and mood and intonation).
2 T explains: sb. sends one’s best wishes/love.
Step 3 Practice
1 T explains “ give sb’s love to sb./sb.& sends sb’s best wishes” briefly. Then ask ss to practise.
Step 4 Oral practice ( ss have a discussion )
1. T first makes a dialogue with a s ( as an example and using the sentences in the dialogue ) asking some of the designed questions.
2. Pair work
Get ss to talk about their summer holiday and their future plan in the new school ( ask them to use the given questions and take some notes when talking---- take down what they did and what they will do ).
3 Ask several ss to come to the front and tell what he/she has learned from his/her partner.
