1)mean that +賓語從句

What’s the meaning of this word? Do you know?
2. attend, take part in, join和join in
attend, take part in, join和join in都表示“參加”的意思。但是,attend 通常與meeting, lecture搭配。take part in 常常指參加一個重大的活動。join表示參加一個“組織”、“團體”等, 也可以說加入某人, join sb, 而join in表示參加一個活動。如join in (doing) sth, join sb in (doing) sth.
例:我們每天上學。
We attend school every day.
他參加了慶祝活動。
He took part in the celebration.
他在五年前參軍了。
He joined army five years ago.
3. This sounded like my school in China.
sound 作動詞,表示“聽起來”,后面可跟形容詞、like加名詞,或從句。
聽起來是個好主意。
That sounds like a good idea.
你的解釋我聽著有道理。
Your explanation sounds reasonable to me.
你的`聲音在電話里聽起來很甜。
Your voice sounds sweet in the phone.
聯想1:與sound有相同用法的詞還有look, taste, feel等感官動詞。

sound, voice 與noise

表示過去常常做某事

聯想1:used to do 與be used to doing
used to do表示過去常常做某事,而be used to doing 表示習慣做某事

1)though引導讓步狀語從句,相當于although。注意不可再用but。
例:Though he got up early, he didn’t catch the train.雖然他起得早,但沒趕上那一趟車。

Though I am not a rich man, I still would like to help others.
2)though 可放在句末,作補充說明,意思為“不過”。
例:I got a cold, not serious though.

聯想1:as…as
例:I found the homework was not as heavy as what I used to get in my old school.

I hope I will be as beautiful as my mother.

否定:not as… as, not so … as
聯想2(1):引導原因狀語,相當于because
例:This means I could get up an hour later than usual as schools in China begin before 8 a.m.

1.Do you often have sports at school ? 你在學校常做運動嗎?
sport指戶外游戲或運動,僅限于體力鍛煉,包括娛樂性的及競賽性的;不以勝負為目的。而game則指有一定規則的,雙方競爭的游戲或運動,既可以是體力運動,也可以是腦力勞動,以輸贏為主要目的。sports和games都表示“運動會”,但有大、小之分,如school sports(校運會),the Asian Games(亞運會),the Olympic Games(奧運會)

2.Which do you prefer , horse riding or shooting ?
prefer意為“寧愿要”或“更喜歡”,與“like…better”意思比較接近,但使用不同。prefer后面可以接名詞,不定式或V·ing形式構成動賓結構,還可以用prefer (doing) sth. to (doing) sth .的句型表示比較級,常用句型如下:
